The Oakland Ironworks District | Oakland, CA

329-331 Jefferson Street
The Oakland Ironworks District is a mixed-use office and retail redevelopment linking the Jack London Square District to downtown Oakland. Metrovation’s Ironworks buildings combine to create the District, which now features one of the largest collections of historic renovated structures in the East Bay. Our projects in the neighborhood include redevelopments of former ironworks, meat-packing, glassworks and sugar warehouse structures. We have emphasized the existing historic characteristics of each of these properties so that the resulting buildings include original brick and timber, visible structural elements, and light-filled central atriums.

Oakland Ironworks Building
Metrovation began developing the Ironworks District in 1984. Our first property was the distinctive 1886 Oakland Ironworks Building, which we have restored and converted to retail and offices. We have merchandised the Ironworks District to embrace the creative dynamic of the East Bay. Our tenants include architects, art galleries, museum designers, graphics and advertising businesses, recycling and green consultants, and non-profits.

638-640 Third StreetThe District, only two blocks from the water, is at the center of the Bay Area’s transportation nexus, and accessible to all major Bay Area highways, Amtrak, BART, the ferry, bicycle trails, and local busses.
