A gateway to the majestic Olympic Mountain Range, Bremerton, Washington is a vibrant waterfront city on the Kitsap Peninsula in the heart of Puget Sound.

Harborside Fountain Park
Bremerton, the major urban center of Kitsap County and one of five designated urban centers in the Puget Sound region, is home to Naval Base Kitsap and the historic Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. With direct ferry service for a 55-minute commute to downtown Seattle, the city is an inviting tourist destination featuring such attractions as the Harborside Fountain Park, Vietnam-era War Destroyer USS Turner Joy, the Puget Sound Navy Museum, parks, shops, galleries, and restaurants.

In 2001, the City of Bremerton initiated an aggressive, award-winning “Downtown Revitalization Plan” centered around Bremerton’s historic waterfront Harborside District. New developments include a regional waterfront conference center with hotel, parking, restaurant, retail and living space, a boardwalk and expanded marina facilities, and a series of waterfront condominiums. With two dozen public and private projects and an expected total investment of $800 million, Bremerton is poised to complete its transformation into a regional urban hub and become a major city in the Pacific Northwest.

 

Harborside Commons | Bremerton, WA

Harborside Commons is a mixed-used development project that will occupy the premier downtown location in Bremerton with 250+ upscale apartments and 48,000 SF of retail, including a supermarket, bookstore and a fitness center. The two-acre property is the site of the former J.C. Penney’s building. Harborside Commons is positioned to become the keystone development in the rebirth of Bremerton’s downtown district. The project is currently in the design phase. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2012.

 

Bremerton Bar and Grill | Bremerton, WA

The Bremerton Bar and Grill opened in April 2011. The American-style family-friendly restaurant occupies a key Bremerton location between Harborside Commons, Memorial Plaza and the Ferry Terminal. Housed in a repurposed 1960s-era bank building, the Bremerton Bar and Grill preserves the architectural character of downtown Bremerton while representing a large step in the revitalization of the Harborside District.
