Noted architect Albert Roller designed 2201 Broadway. The building, constructed in 1931, consists of over 192,000 rentable square feet contained in eight office floors and a penthouse. It has been extensively renovated and completely modernized. 2201 Broadway is on the Oakland Landmark Board’s Preservation Study List and the Local Register of Historic Resources with an “A” rating, designating our building as one of Oakland’s prime Art Deco monuments. Metrovation has created a cultural aspect to the transformation of 2201 Broadway with our Great Wall of Oakland. (www.greatwallofoakland.org). On the first Friday of every month we project art videos onto our back wall, providing 100’ x100’ images of video art from around the world as part of Oakland’s monthly Art Murmur art walk. Metrovation has brought new energy and capital to the Uptown neighborhood. We have succeeded in elevating 2201 Broadway to one of the most popular office buildings in Oakland.
